AN EVENING WITH SARAH BLASKO, SALLY SELTMANN & HOLLY THROSBY 
​A fundraiser for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, part of the NNC Festival Series

​Sarah Blasko, Sally Seltmann & Holly Throsby and  are three of this country's most cherished and revered creative voices. Their respective musical and literary output over the last 15 years is both prolific and astounding in it’s quality; they’ve soundtracked some of the world’s most beloved TV shows and films and they’ve performed on festival stages and in venues in every corner of the globe. They’ve released award-winning novels and a combined 17 solo albums. Somewhere along the line they even released an album as a trio - the much-beloved 'Seeker Lover Keeper.' 

For one-night only, Newtown Festival is delighted to host a special reunion of these three friends performing songs from each of their incredible back-catalogues.

SARAH

From the now-classic debut The Overture & The Underscore (2004) through to the stunning just-released Depth Of Field (2018), Sarah Blasko's six-album run of genre-defining indie-rock and art-pop is unparalleled. Over the course of her albums she has  has secured 3 ARIA awards and triple j's Album Of The Year for 'As Day Follows Night’. Sarah was the subject of the ABC commissioned documentary BLASKO – which aired late in 2017 to critical acclaim. Blasko has also written for myriad film, television, theatre and ballet productions.

SALLY


Sally Setlmann is the award-winning Australian singer-songwriter and novelist behind intoxicating albums such as ‘Hey Daydreamer’, Heart That’s Pounding’, 'Somewhere Anywhere’ and 'The Last Beautiful Day’. She is the co-writer of the hit song ‘1234' performed by Feist and in 2008 she won the APRA Award for Breakthrough Songwriter Of the Year. Sally has composed music for multiple films and television shows. Her first novel ‘Lovesome' was published by Allen & Unwin in May 2018.

HOLLY

Holly Throsby has released five critically acclaimed solo albums, as well as a collection of original children’s songs. Holly’s debut novel, Goodwood, was published by Allen & Unwin in October 2016. It came in at #7 on ABC’s The Book Club’s Top Ten; and was #3 on Dymocks’ list of the Best Books of 2016. Goodwood has been since been shortlisted for an Indie Book Award, two ABIAs, two Sisters in Crime Davitt Awards, and a Ned Kelly Award. Holly's second novel, Cedar Valley, comes out in October via Allen & Unwin.
